Toyota Enters Heavy Van Market
Brand Targets More Business Buyers
Toyota is entering the heavy van market with a new model called the Dyna. The Dyna is a full-size van with a gross vehicle weight rating of up to 14,500 pounds. It is available in three body lengths and two roof heights, and can be configured to seat up to 15 passengers or carry up to 4,200 pounds of cargo.
The Dyna is powered by a 4.0-liter V6 engine that produces 278 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. It is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and is offered with either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.
The Dyna comes standard with a variety of features, including air conditioning, power windows and locks, and a rearview camera. It is also available with a number of optional features, such as a navigation system, a backup camera, and a blind spot monitoring system.
Targeting Business Buyers
The Dyna is the latest in a series of new products from Toyota that are targeted at business buyers. In recent years, Toyota has introduced the Tacoma pickup truck, the Tundra full-size pickup truck, and the Highlander SUV.
Toyota is betting that the Dyna will be successful in the heavy van market, which is dominated by Ford and General Motors. The Dyna offers a number of advantages over its competitors, including a lower price, better fuel economy, and a more comfortable ride.
The Dyna is expected to go on sale in the United States in early 2023.
