Jason Momoa is an American actor best known for his roles as Ronon Dex in the television series Stargate Atlantis, Khal Drogo in the HBO series Game of Thrones, and Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe.

Early Life

Momoa was born on August 1, 1979 in Honolulu, Hawaii. His father, Joseph Momoa, is a painter, and his mother, Coni Lemke, is a photographer. He is of Native Hawaiian, German, and Irish descent.

Momoa moved to Norwalk, Iowa with his mother when he was six years old. He attended Norwalk High School, where he played football and was a member of the swim team.

Momoa began his acting career in the early 2000s. He had small roles in the television shows Baywatch and North Shore before landing his breakout role as Ronon Dex in Stargate Atlantis in 2004.

Career

Since his role in Stargate Atlantis, Momoa has starred in a number of films and television shows. He played Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones from 2011 to 2012, and he has played Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe since 2016.

Momoa has also directed and produced several films, including Road to Paloma (2014) and Braven (2018).
