Swayman Shines, Carlo Scores Go-Ahead Goal

Series Tied 1-0 Heading to Game 2

The Boston Bruins took a 1-0 lead in their second-round series against the Florida Panthers with a 3-2 victory in Game 1 on Monday night. Jeremy Swayman continued his brilliant postseason performance by stopping 38 shots, while Brandon Carlo scored the go-ahead goal in the third period.

The Bruins followed a similar formula to their victory against the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round, scoring two goals in the third period to come from behind and win the game. Erik Haula tied the score at 1-1 in the third period, and the Bruins generated momentum from a tremendous penalty kill. David Pastrnak scored the game-winning goal with just over six minutes remaining in regulation.

The Bruins were coming off a 2-1 overtime win against the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 7 of their first-round series. They will look to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the series when they host the Panthers in Game 2 on Wednesday night.
